Finca Cuipo tries to give back to nature for our and future generations and we thank YOU for your help!

Reforestation and sustainability are at the heart of Finca Cuipo. What started as a small family project has grown into a long-term commitment to restoring the natural balance of this part of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.

Over the past years, we have planted over 8.000 native trees on our land, helping to regenerate the soil, support local wildlife, and protect water sources. Each tree is a small but important step toward a healthier ecosystem—one that will continue to grow long after today.

Why reforestation matters here

The Sierra Nevada is one of the most biodiverse regions in the world, yet it has also been affected by deforestation and land use changes over time. Reforesting with native species helps to:

• Restore natural habitats for birds and wildlife

• Improve soil quality and prevent erosion

• Protect water cycles and local springs

• Strengthen the resilience of the ecosysten

By planting trees, we are investing in the long-term future of this unique region

Sustainability in Practice​

Finca Cuipo is based on sustainable principles to ensure minimum impact on the surrounding environment.

Our approach includes:

• Employing people from nearby villages, supporting local livelihoods

• Using local products and goods whenever possible to strengthen the regional economy

• Reusing water to irrigate our gardens, which have been planted on recovered terrain

• Operating 100% on solar-powered energy, reducing our environmental footprint

Let it Bee 🐝

We recently started our beekeeping adventure with two hives that now play an important role in maintaining biodiversity around the finca. Our bees help ensure the survival of many plant species, support forest regeneration, and contribute to sustainability and climate change adaptation.
